| VANISHING POINT
- coming to Europe! (June
6th, 2008) |
Finally Australia's finest VANISHING POINT will return to Europe
for a full scale European tour supporting SONATA ARCTICA this fall!
See below in the tourdates section for the first confirmed dates.
Metal-Rules.com sees "Australia’s premier melodic Metal
band reaffirm its position at the top of the mountain" with "the
release of aptly titled THE
FOURTH SEASON":
"Where EMBRACE was
a sprawling epic, THE FOURTH SEASON is a little different in that it offers a
few understated surprises with shorter compositions and a heavier songwriting
approach. While not too obvious, these subtle changes add to the bands sound
and work to keep their style intact while moving it forward." |

| VANISHING POINT to support IRON MAIDEN and HELLOWEEN (Jan. 30th, 2008) |
Let IRON MAIDEN do the talking:
"Legendary local metal band VANISHING POINT is confirmed as support on the Perth and Melbourne IRON MAIDEN shows. The band has produced four critically acclaimed releases and accolades too numerous to mention in a career spanning more than a decade. Consisting of five like-minded, yet distinct individuals, the members of VANISHING POINT are among the elite who push boundaries, erase labels and dismantle the preconceptions of what a heavy metal band should be."
The support dates with HELLOWEEN are still due, see tour dates for details!
VANISHING POINT just released their fourth studio album "The Fourth Season" in Autumn 2007. |

| Album Of The Month (22.08.07) |
| Surrender yourself to VANISHING POINT! You can't depict "The Fourth Season", the upcoming VANISHING POINT album better than German Metal Hammer: "VANISHING POINT show every aspect of what's state of the art in Progressive Metal: Complex song structures including sophisticated orchestral arrangements meet great melodies. Silvio Massaro proves again that he's a mastersinger. It's a pity this great band didn't get further than being an insider tip by now! Songs like 'Tyranny Of Distance', 'Hope Among The Heartless' ( What a killer of a Refrain!) or 'Behind The Open Door' will hopefully and finally alter this state! "The Fourth Season" is not only for Progressive Fans, but any banger who is into melodies should check this disc immediately! It's worth it!" Marc Halupczok |

| The Fourth Season (14.06.07) |
| Our Australian metal gods VANISHING POINT successfully recorded and mixed "The Fourth Season" - the follow-up to their 2005 milestone "Embrace The Silence". Again the band teamed up with Endel Rivers at Palmstudios in their hometown Melbourne/Australia. But this time the mastering will be done by legendary Mika Jussila (who worked with Stratovarius, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica...) at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. VANISHING POINT also shoot a video to the song "Surrender", here's the message from the band:
"Greetings ladies and gentlemen, just a quick note to let you know that we are still alive and keeping busy with everything related to the new album. Two weeks ago we had recorded a music video for a song from our forthcoming album which will be released in the next few months, the song titled "Surrender" was recorded by our good friends at Demo Clips, and so far the video looks excellent, we will let you know when we will upload it!"
The Fourth Season will be available in stores end of August 2007. |

New Album (04.03.07) |
Our Australian Prog Metal gods Vanishing Point are writing and recording the eagerly awaited follow-up to "Embrace The Silence" in their hometown Melbourne. 'Embrace The Silence" was named 'Album of 2005' in a few and 'Prog Metal Album of 2005' in many magazines. This is what the band states about the upcoming album:
"OK, the new album... So far we have some album titles but nothing
concrete. There will be an anouncement in the next couple of months. To
be honest, with all that's been going on and the hectic schedule of the
recording we have had our focus there... Which brings us to the album
and how it is shaping up... So far, so good, the album musically is a
little heavier than usual, but for VANISHING POINT fans it is a step up
and musically it is melodic, bombastic, dynamic, quicker and suprise
suprise... shorter than 'Embrace The Silence'. The music is completed,
just doing edits at the moment on the drums and keyboards which will be
finished by years end. Silvio will be in the studio the first week of
January to start the vocals and will continue on until the album is
finished. All in all we expect the album to be completed by April. We
wanted to finish it earlier but we can't and have to be respectful to
other bands who are to use the studio as well, if you ask us... fuck
'em, bastards!!! Heh heh, only kidding."
Australia's finest are about to join forces with England's fastest - VANISHING POINT are on tour with Dragonforce. The "DragonPoint Tour" will roam Down Under in May 2007. Even though playing quite frequently live, those gigs will be Vanishing Point's first time to Brisbane, Perth and New Zealand!! Tourdates here. |
Gamma Ray Support (07.11.06) |
VANISHING POINT are going "Majestic Down Under" - that's the title of the
Australian GAMMA RAY tour. The Australian five-piece will be opening for
GAMMA RAY on their Melbourne show which will take place on Saturday,
December 9th, 2006. Doors open at 8:30pm.
VANISHING POINT are busy recording the follow-up to their 2005 album
"Embrace The Silence" which is supposed to see the light of day in Febuary
2007. Almost all instruments are tracked and they are currently preparing
everything for Silvio Massaro to lay down his vocals on the material.

"Top Australian Album" & New Bassist (24.12.05) |
VANISHING POINT have finally announced a new bass player. "It has been a very hard and reluctant task in finding a replacement for Joe. With over a dozen applicants stretching as far as Europe and abroad we didn't have to look further than our own backyard."
"After going through several weeks of auditioning it is with great pleasure to welcome Steve Cox to his new position as our new bass player. Steve has fitted in with his new role quite nicely with his great sense of humour and professionalism towards VP is most welcome. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who did try out but who were unfortunately unsuccessful. We wish all the very best for your future and know in whatever you chose to do you will be successful."
Australia's Blastwave mag has named "Embrace The Silence" number 1 in their Top five Australian Albums of 2005. Congrats!
