On The Road
(07.11.06) |
MANNHAI say hello from the road! The stoner rockers from Hell-sinki put the
"Hellroad Caravan" on the road and left central Europe gazing at red hot
stages, air raid warnings and thick, lava-like riffing made the audience
band their head.
Metal-Inside.de writes about the show:
Pasi Koskinen encouraged the audience to move their asses
and gave the best example headbanging like in the best days of AMORPHIS.
Guitar and bass player couldn't stop smiling about the interaction between
their front person, the drummer and the audience.
Cool as fuck their decoration ideas - little, but very stylish flash lights
on their arms, illuminating the guitars and pointing into the audience. The
Finns rocked their set tightly to the top. You could see and here that this
is a band eager to bring their songs on the road, and this spirit overleapt
to the audience. Come back again soon!" Lars Heitmann

"Dynamite" in Rock Hard Germany
(04.07.06) |
MANNHAI - that's the band of two former AMORPHIS members, namely vocalist Pasi Koskinen and bass player Olli-Pekka Laine. Don't expect "dark metal" or whatsoever, but ROCK from straight to doomy in the vein of Kyuss, Alice in Chains or oldschool Black Sabbath. Their fourth album "Hellroad Caravan will be out on Dockyard June 26th - and they've got raving revies so far! In Rock Hard magazine Germany they scored number 2 on the editor's charts which makes them one of 10 specially featured "albums of the month":
"... this 'Hellroad Caravan" cruises through the desert to stop only at the Titty Twister to get more dope, booze and speed. Just like Mustasch or Spiritual Beggars, MANNHAI are here to kick the butt of Stoner Rock to get it rocking like hell." 9/10 points

Not only have they managed to get ex-Amorphis singer Pasi Koskinen on vocals to be a permanent member, they have also managed to get amazing reviews everywhere: No. 2 in Rock Hard's (Ger) editorial charts, No 6. in Metal Heart (Ger), Top 10 in Metal Hammer (Ger). See them live all over Europe very soon. |
Gig At The Ice Hockey World Championship (13.05.06) |
This weekend MANNHAI play at the Ice Hockey World Championship in Riga, Latvia. Well, not in the ice hall, but in the "Club Depot" on the supporting program. All those hockey fanatics travelling to Latvia can see MANNHAI perform today, tomorrow and Sunday.
"Hellroad Caravan", MANNHAI's first album with singer Pasi Koskinen (ex AMORPHIS) will be released on June 26th. It's a trucking monster loaded with the sound of the desert, it reminds of KISS and Mother Love Bone the same time - this is at the same time retro and genuine.

DOCKYARD 1 Signs Heaviest Rock Group From Finland (11.04.06) |
We are looking forward to release "Hellroad Caravan" on June
12th, 2006. This monster-truck of an album is fueled by a new line-up:
Ex-AMORPHIS singer Pasi Koskinen joined MANNHAI in the middle of
the 2005 European tour after they had to let go of Pasi's predecessor.
Pasi lead MANNHAI back to their roots - an earthy bastard of a breed
where Black Sabbath meets Alice in Chains, where Mother Love Bone got
KISSed by desert-dry riffs. And still this mix is catchy as hell,
"Spaceball", the first single out of "Hellroad Caravan" entered already
the Finnish single charts on 1 and stayed in the Top 10 for 3 weeks.
